No Man Is an Island?

Oh, absolutely not so... That's pretty much a request to be close minded. Maybe they mean don't let rubbish control your thoughts. But others, why would you not want others to influence your thoughts? Then you would never think much of anything at all. Thoughts come from stimulation and influence. We would be mindless without interactions and reactions. That's what I love about people is that they can tune you, expand you and keep you curious. It's more about whether you know what you want from people and yourself. You're not a feather in the wind; exposure to people doesn't force you to accept general media or peer opinions and natures as absolute. You want to know who you are, of course, but what I understand of who I am, I've learned mostly from the influence of people. It's just that you probably shouldn't choose to take advice from the likes of the Kardashians and Glenn Beck. I trust that you know that you are better than that.

  1. If I only heard this as a teenager. I used to be so down on myself for being a chameleon. Now I realize it's good influences that have/are still helped/ing me become who I want to be.
